Pepino Melon for Weight Loss?

For those of you who's watching the calories, pepino melon may be the answer for you. One of the best ways to lose weight is by increasing the amount of fiber in your diet. Pepino melon has about 5 grams of fiber and about 80 calories, making this melon a good choice when it comes to snack time.

A pepino melon, or Solanum muricatum, isn’t a true melon, although it resembles one. Also called pepino dulce, this fruit is actually related to eggplants and tomatoes. One of the most important exercises women should do is to start lifting weights. But women are scared they will bulk up. Do I Need A Gym Membership

Many people believe they need a gym membership to workout or to weight train. But in actuality you don't need a gym membership to exercise or weight train. You don't even need an exercise machine. As a matter of fact, there are some exercise machines you should avoid. I will include the article link for that at the end of this post as it is a must read.

There are easy exercises you can do at home or at work that will not require a gym membership. Two of them are jogging in place and step exercises. This can easily be done while watching the television or listening to music. Even if it is cold, rainy, snowy, or too hot out, you can do these exercises anytime day or night. Not only do you not need a gym membership, you don't have to buy any special exercise clothes, and if you have a good pair of shoes you are good to go. If you need to build muscle you can do push-ups or planks.

How To Quickly Gain Muscle In Six Easy Steps


Each day men and women are looking for ways to quickly gain muscle and more people are learning the more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism will be.  There is no magic potion that will turn your body into a fat burning machine, or ripped overnight, but there are some simple things you can do to build muscle fast.


  1. One of the most important things you want to do is limit your cardio. Rachel Cosgrove suggest doing up to two days of light jogging on a treadmill, and keep it up to 30 minutes per session. She also says to lose fat while sparing muscle its best to do sprint intervals, for example running one minute then backing off to a light jog for two minutes.  Cardio burns calories, but when you build muscle you'll burn calories even after the initial workout so keep the cardio to a limit of only a few days a week.
  2. Eating meat is another vital step you should take in your journey to building muscle fast.  According to Adam Campbell, you should eat 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, which is roughly the maximum amount your body can use in a day. And that was from a landmark study in the Journal of Applied Physiology.  If you don’t eat enough meat, your muscles will not have the fuel it need thus taking you longer to gain muscle. Also meat provides complete protein and vegetables provide incomplete protein according to Medline Plus. You have to combine the two if you want to get some of your protein from veggies and maximize muscle gains. 
  3. Do workouts that target all of your muscles. When you do dead lifts, squats, planks, and push-ups, you are targeting more muscle groups than you would if you do exercises that don’t.  The best way to perform these exercises is do them with little rest in between. If you are a beginner, you can start out slow and build your way up to doing more. Exercises that target the bigger muscles will help you to quickly gain muscle.
  4. Do some form of strength training. Doing lunges and squats is a good place to start and according to WebMD, this will prompt your legs to start building muscles. They also said the amount of weight you use and repetitions should be enough to fatigue the muscles. Adam says it will hinder the growth if you don’t. 
  5. Leg presses are also a good form of exercise for building muscle. According to Blackdoctor, every gym has a guy with light bulb syndrome, which is a muscleman who neglected his lower body lol. The leg press will work the major leg muscles. 
  6. The next thing you want to do is drink water. This is important when you are performing any kind of exercise or activity. The body is made up of roughly 70% water and you need to replace loss fluids after all workouts, including building muscle. Your muscles need water. Drink 8-10 cups of water or more daily.
These 6 steps is all you need to quickly gain muscle. As I mentioned before, there is no overnight way to build muscle, but anyone can do it if they follow these smalls steps. Even if you are a skinny man, you will build muscles quickly without going to a gym and in the comfort of your home if you desire.

The Facts To Lose Weight & Keep Off The Excess Pounds

Everyday millions of people do things all the time without actually thinking about it. But today, I am going to talk about things pertaining to weight loss.

Let me ask you a question, do you think anything you do during the day makes you fat? If you answered no, you may be in for some surprising facts. Many people wonder why they can’t be successful with weight loss and they feel that their body just can’t lose the weight.  The truth is anyone can lose weight, some may lose more weight than others, but any and everyone can be successful at weight loss, including you.

Here are some true facts on why you can’t lose weight.

One of the main reasons many people can’t lose weight is not reading food labels and believing everything written on them. I will give you an example. You go in the store searching for foods that will help you battle the pounds, have reduced calories, and ones that are “healthy”. Lets take strawberry jam, most labels will tell you that it is made with real fruit. But did you know that out of a 16 ounce jar there may only be one strawberry in it. See the food industry don’t want you to know how much is in that jar of your favorite strawberry jam because they really don’t put much in it at all. What is a very small amount of strawberries going to do for your health? Not a thing. All it will do is add to much unnecessary sugars to your diet and slow your weight loss efforts.  All the food industry did was make money off of fooling you into thinking the strawberry jam was healthy when in reality it isn't.




The next food item I want to tell you about is energy drinks and sports drinks. Now the problem with these drinks is they mainly have high fructose corn syrup in them and other added sugars.  Sugar, as I mentioned with the strawberry jam, prevents you from losing weight, heck it puts more weight on you.  The advertisements will tell you that these drinks help you gain energy or they suppose to be helpful after a good workout. What’s so good about the workout if you’re adding junk back into your body? When you exercise you’re getting all that mess out of your body so the worst thing you can do is put it back in you. This not only causes you to gain weight, it will in the long run make you slugglish and more tired. Why, because even if you avoid the sports and energy drinks loaded with sugars and the high fructose corn syrup and drink the ones with artificial sugars you will just cause even more problems for your body and your weight loss efforts will surely go down the drain.

The artificial sugars, such as aspartame, are nothing more than harmful chemicals that are a big danger to your body. These sugars cause cancer and a multitude of diseases, and over time weight gain. They claim Splenda is healthy and that it is made from real sugar. Don’t believe it! It’s a straight up lie. They make you think it is healthy when it is absolutely not.

Also you should stay away from foods claiming to be diet, or lite foods. These types of food contain artificial sugars, especially the Splenda. Some lite or diet yogurts have artificial sugars in them.  Many people think they are doing themselves a favor by purchasing these so called healthy foods. You’re not treating yourself to nothing but garbage if you buy it. The industry wants you to buy it so they can continue to make money off of you. They know they will lose business if they did not make these “healthy foods because a person who wants to lose weight or get healthy will quit buying the regular versions of these foods. It is only a strategy for them to make money and keep you fat and unhealthy.  By the way chlorine is added to Splenda and I don’t recommend anyone to use it, period!

If you want to treat yourself to your favorite snack, just stick to the regular version of the product and cut down on the amount. Also only have it sparingly. If you want to lose weight this is the best route to go. Artificial sugars will cause you to increase your cravings, bettering your chances of not losing weight and it can cause digestive problems. You don’t want that.

It is best to use natural sugars like agave nectar, or raw honey, or organic. You come out better using these because you will not have those awful cravings. Fake sugars leave you feeling empty but you gain weight at the same time.

As far as the sports drinks, it is best to have some oolong tea, herbal tea, or some other kind of healthy tea instead that is lightly sweetened. I like ginger flavored tea. I’ll put a little ginger in it and it gives it a good taste. Oolong tea helps a person lose weight because it’s not loaded with calories and it is natural.

And the strawberry jam, you can make your own. At least you know what in it and you can make it be as healthy as you want and lose weight.

Watch the food labels. Most of the time if you can’t pronounces a word it’s not best to buy the item.  And try to get foods that have lesser ingredients.

Overall, don’t let the so called food experts fool you. Companies are going to continue to come out with foods to keep up with those who are trying to lose weight or want to be healthier, and they will continue to do this until the end of time to make money. Money is really the root to all evil and these companies play on the emotion of people and they don’t care if you want to be healthier or lose weight.  They have a hidden agenda and that’s to take your money.  Now you know the main reason why people can’t lose weight. Sure there are other reasons but being fooled by the food industry tops them all.

So Called Healthy Foods That Will Make You Fat


Many times we see ads on the television that causes consumers to believe that certain foods are low fat or great in helping us to lose weight. When most people eat these foods, they still continue to struggle with losing body fat and then they end up giving up on their weight loss journey. Also most of the time we waste unnecessary money on these so called health foods that contributes to more weight gain. Below are some things you can do to improve your overall plan for losing body fat and foods to avoid and healthier versions of these foods you should eat.

                                                               

·         Yogurt with fruit on the bottom. Most of us think yogurt with fruit on the bottom is healthy. The problem with this yogurt is the high sugar content. It probably has more sugar than most soft drinks. So instead eat plain yogurt with any kind of fresh fruit you like. Strawberries or mixed berries are good with plain yogurt.

·         Ground turkey. Ground turkey can actually be very fatting. In some cases it is no different than eating a regular beef burger. The best thing would be to eat lean meat or even go for the leaner ground turkey made with white meat.

·         Raisins. Raisins are usually considered a good snack but not really. Raisins contain much more calories than plain grapes.  So I recommend that you eat the grapes over raisins. To me the grapes are much tastier than the raisins and in most cases other ingredients, especially, sugar are added to the raisins. Frozen grapes are good too.

·         Fruit smoothies. It is best to make a fruit smoothie at home. When you purchase a fruit smoothie, they are more like milkshakes because they use milk and/or ice cream and contain a massive amount of fat and sugars and a low amount of fruit. To cut this out just make it at home. All you need is a blender, fresh fruit, an ounce of 100% juice or you can make your own juice using fresh fruit and a juicer, and some ice.  I use strawberries as my fruit and put it in the blender with very little juice and liquefy it or puree it then add the ice.



·         Cereal. The problem with cereal is if you eat too much of it, the calories will add up quickly even the ones that are consider more healthy. The best thing to eat would be oatmeal or your favorite hot cereal that has a good amount of fiber.

·         Sugar free or so-called diet foods. Most of the time, these foods cause you to crave more sugars or you will train yourself to think you can eat more. Also sugar free food contains fake sugars that are dangerous to your health. The best thing you can do is eat the real version of the food. For example if it is low fat or sugar free cookies, eat the original one and only eat a few. Most fat free or low fat foods contain more sugar than the original and other added ingredients to make up for the low fat and to improve the taste.  

If you change up the foods you eat and avoid the fat free foods, “healthy” foods, you will see results quicker, save money, most of all feel better.

How To Lose Body Fat When Severely Obese

If you've never exercised a day in your life or if you are severely overweight or obese there are some precautions you should take. In order to lose body fat people in this situation need to start out slow. Low intensity exercises will be best for anyone who is obese. The type exercises can be walking, a light jog, and cycles with a small mini cycler machine or a mini cardio cycle that’s strictly to exercise the arms or the legs (you can find it online or store like Walmart, and stretching /yoga. The reason you should start out slow like this is because you don’t want to put your body under unnecessary stress.  Then you can slowly ease your way into do more intense workouts. You can still focus on working the bigger muscle groups to burn more calories but use low impact workouts. Don’t worry if this is hard for you when you start, take baby steps. Some exercises are better than none and you will make accomplishments.

Once you lose some of the weight, you can then increase to the higher intensity workouts and start losing weight faster. Remember you still want to gradually work your way up and not hurt yourself. Increase your water intake. You need to drink more water to help with losing weight. Water helps make the body function better and you will lose weight faster. Most people drink more than the average amount that is recommended daily. You should also cut out all junk foods. I’m not just talking about cookies and cakes; I’m talking about pizza, canned foods, breads, fried foods, foods with high fructose corn syrups, and alcohol. Alcohol can actually slow down weight loss efforts because it can eliminate your appetite.  Also cut back on calories, not too much though because if you deprive your body of too much calories, your body will go into starvation mode making it harder to lose weight.

Stay consistent when trying to lose weight. Even if you just do a little bit until you can gradually do more exercises. If you need motivation, get a friend or family member; if your budget allows get a personal trainer for however long you need one. You can also join a support group (online or offline) with other individuals who are trying to lose weight.

When you get to a more comfortable weight then you should start including higher intensity workouts and mix them in with lower intensity workouts until you can handle doing a lot more high intensity exercises. You can also use weights when you are walking to slowly build muscle to increase fat loss.

How do you avoid these tempting foods? The best way is to avoid sandwiches, pastas, certain deserts, and rice. These are the most commonly order foods on the menu. The best foods to order are lean meats, with veggies, a healthy salad, and for the drink some water and lemon. Water and lemon is good for fat after it is eaten and lemon helps with bloating and digestion. Lemon has many other health benefits also.
In almost all restaurants, you can substitute foods. Instead of fries you can order healthy sides such as veggies or a salad. A lot of times when I go out to eat, I will get the fries and give them to my husband, who loves to order double fries, just to save money and prevent him from getting the second order. But at the same time, I try to encourage him not to eat fries as much as he does. After he eats those fries, he often complains of stomach pains, which I believe comes from eating fries. Fries and soda are always foods I avoid when I go out to eat. I make no compromise when it comes to these two foods. I like to eat sandwiches and cheese sticks from time to time, but I eat healthy the majority of times I visit a restaurant.

Easy Ways To Burn Calories

The easiest and fastest way to burn calories is by doing muscle training. Also interval training will offer an easy way to burn calories. Interval training is when you’re exercising your body to the max while performing high intensity workouts. Then you will slow down but continue doing low intensity exercises. Riding a bike is a great example of interval training exercise. Another easy way to burn calories is to get a dumbbell and do dead lifts. This is a powerful exercise used by many people to build muscle and burn calories. Your body will use more calories to digest the protein that you eat. Plus when you are building muscle, and doing dead lifts, you will need more protein any way. Get your protein by eating more lean meats, nuts, and beans. Avoid getting your protein from those protein bars because these bars are really junk foods in disguise.

Cruciferous veggies- These veggies help fight against body fat by helping your burn more calories. Examples of cruciferous veggies are broccoli, cabbage, and kale greens. These vegetables also fight against cancers and heart disease. So you will be protecting your body against many things when you eat these veggies several times a week.

Avoid Diets If You Want A Slim Waist Line

As you know there are no miracles to losing weight. There is no lotion, potion, ab belt, pills, or any of the other “miracle” products available to blast the fat. There really isn't any diet that will help you either.

                                                         

So what should you avoid? Dieting! Yes don’t go on a diet if you want to lose body fat and keep it off. Diets will work against you and in the long run and you will not lose stomach fat or any body fat. You will start to lose muscle if you’re not careful. Let’s say you go on a liquid diet, you will burn muscle before you burn fat. The fat stay because when you lose muscle your metabolism will slow down keeping you from burning the fat. You will never have a slim stomach like this. When you get off of the diet and start your normal eating, you will gain more fat and the lost muscle will be gone for good and you will have to build it back up again.

Don’t keep going for the fad diets and lies the diet and product creators tell you when you see the ads. These products will not help you lose body fat. They want people to believe these fad diets and products work and that’s why they will use celebrities or models to make you believe that stuff work.  These diets often take away a much needed nutrient the body needs to function and down the line can cause serious health risk. The best way to a slim waist line is to eat healthy, exercise, and build some muscle.
